ABOUT US

Midwest’s experts in coffee equipment.

At Invoke, coffee equipment is our obsession. We have chosen to partner with some of the world’s most renowned brands, each with a legacy of craftsmanship that spans generations. We take the time to learn about your project, its needs, and help you select the equipment that will meet and exceed your goals. But it doesn’t end there.

As part of your equipment purchase, Invoke will collaborate with your architects, builders, trades people, and project managers throughout the entire process. We work hard to ensure that there are no costly work order changes, or surprises leading up to install day.

After install, we offer the service and support that you need to ensure that your equipment stays in peak condition for the life of the machine.

Services
  • Invoke is your full service coffee equipment partner. We specialize in sales, service, support and training. We will help you with consultation–from the dream stage to the grand opening day, making sure that your vision is realized.

Time to upgrade your equipment? We can evaluate your existing space and help you determine what gear will fit your needs while making sure your utilities are correct for install day.

  • Our supported espresso equipment brands are Slayer, Synesso, Simonelli, La Marzocco, and Eversys. We service grinders made by Mazzer, Mahlkonig, Compak, and Ditting. We support brewing equipment made by Fetco.

Supported means we are approved technicians for the companies above, and we carry many parts for repairs and maintenance.

While we are able to service other brands, we do so on a case-by-case basis. Not all coffee equipment is well made, or well supported by the manufacturers. This often results delays while finding and ordering parts, and a return visit to complete the service.

  • Invoke is based out of Youngstown, OH. We offer on-site service for commercial coffee businesses in a 2.5hr radius from downtown Youngstown.

We offer service on home units of supported equipment in our workshop. At this time, we do not offer in-house service for home equipment. Many home units require specialized tools and complicated post-repair testing to ensure proper calibration.

Home equipment lead times vary based on existing commercial work load and schedule.

  • Invoices are due on receipt. We will keep a credit card on file.

We offer preferred rates for clients who have purchased their equipment through Invoke, and have kept that equipment up to date with maintenance recommendations.

    Currently those rates are:
    $90/hr Travel (round trip)
    $115/hr once on site.

We offer service on equipment that was not maintained at recommended service intervals, or was not sold by Invoke at our “3rd Party” rates.

    Currently those rates are:

    $115/hr Travel (round trip)
    $225/hr once on site.

Normal service hours are M-F 9am-5pm. Traffic counts as travel time. After hours service requests are billed at 1.5x the assigned labor rates above.

Emergency/Holiday/Weekend rates are billed at 1.5x the normally assigned labor rates above.

There may be additional charges if repairs were attempted prior to our arrival, or for hazardous workplace conditions.

  • We have families too. Our families are more important than our work, so we do not offer this as a normal service. If your business absolutely can not be serviced during normal working hours, we will bill at emergency rates so we can buy our families dinner to make up for missing us.

Preventative maintenance is part of owning coffee equipment. Quarterly maintenance should be scheduled and planned for with your cafe. Brew extra filter coffee, offer cold brew, offer iced coffee whenever possible so your customers still have something to drink while your equipment is being serviced.

  • When Invoke sells equipment, we consider it white-glove service. The sale is not the end of a transaction, but the beginning of a relationship. You brew the coffee, we’ll handle the equipment.

Your price includes freight to our workshop, uncrating and pre-installation “bench testing/calibration”, working with your trades to ensure proper utilities are available, water testing and filtration recommendations, and installation of your equipment. We’ll then spend some time working with you to learn how to use the new gear so your coffee is amazing.

Invoke will cover the manufacturers warranty as a “one call” service. You call us, we take care of everything. We also aim for 100% up-time. While this goal is not always possible, we carry the majority of parts for supported equipment on our truck. If the problem is bigger than our parts truck can handle, we will offer you loaner equipment while we handle your repair in our workshop.

When you buy from Invoke, and you keep up with your preventative maintenance recommendations, you will have access to our preferred rates and our priority service. We go out of our way to make sure you are in good hands. Our hands.

  • No. Online resellers are the worst. They make a dollar amount look attractive, and then leave you to do all the work. Testing, installing, calibration, and training on the equipment takes a lot of time. If you save on the purchase but then have to shoulder the cost of getting it working, have you really saved anything?

Worse than that, you would be the responsible party for all warranty or service calls. We may do the work, but you pay for it before we leave and then have to get a hold of the online seller to reimburse you. We find that it is difficult to get them on the phone once your check clears.

Our equipment costs are “all in” with no surprises, and we stand behind it all. Most of the time, that online deal is the more expensive option in the short term.

  • You can, but we will have to break up. It’s not you, it’s us.
We have extremely high standards for service work, and we can not stand behind any machine that has had someone else inside of it. There are many systems inside these machines, and all of them work together. If someone has been tinkering around, it complicates our repair processes and can create unforeseen failures.

No, we won’t sell you parts either. The parts on the truck are carefully inventoried, and we carry enough stock to keep our clients up and running. We will not risk that reliability.

  • The six most frightening words in tech work. So, here’s the real talk:

Facebook Marketplace, eBay, Craigslist, and all the other markets are 95% filled with junk. The descriptions all say the same thing: “Recently serviced!” “Worked great when disconnected!” and my personal favorite: “Refurbished!”

90% of the time, the equipment is totaled. The cost of the repair plus the cost of the machine is more than buying a brand new machine with a full factory warranty. These marketplaces are where seedy sellers try to get rid of their condemned equipment after it has been pronounced dead.

We have even seen one seller in their ad say, “Just had to shut down my cafe after 1 year. New machine, low use.” It was the 5th machine they were selling in a year, and all of different brands and models. He is a liar, and you are the mark.

Some sellers are selling well known name brand “grey market” machines not intended for the US market. These are not supported, and may cause liability for you since they do not meet any of the strict US safety guidelines.

  • We will look it over for you, but we require you to allow us to perform a full and complete in-depth service and analysis. This will take hours to perform, and may cost a thousand or more in parts. We must replace many valves and gaskets to make it functional, and often along the way we discover even more problems needing repair.

So yeah we’ll do it, but you should expect the initial service to be expensive.

  • We’ve been doing this a long time, and we’ve seen a lot of questions come up repeatedly. Here’s our answers, and a bit about why we do what we do.
